Hungarian Nationals Welcomes World Record Holder Kristof Milak Back to Competition

The upcoming 2024 Hungarian National Championships mark a significant moment in the competitive career of 24-year-old world record holder Kristof Milak. Milak, who has not been in the pool since last year’s Hungarian Championships, is entered in six events during the Olympic-qualifying competition from April 9th to April 12th. He will compete in the 50m, 100m, and 200m freestyle events as well as the 50m, 100m, and 200m butterfly. Despite being out of the pool for some time now, Milak already holds Olympic Qualification Times in the 100m (50.80) and 200m fly (1:52.58) from that competition. He resumed training in mid-January and aims to be in his best form for the Paris Olympic Games.

Among other athletes to watch at this year’s Hungarian national championships is Zalan Sarkany, who holds the PAC-12 conference record with a time of 14:23.01 in the men’s 1650y freestyle event at last year’s championships. He later won an NCAA Championships title in the same event with a time of 14:3
