Nurse at Sanford Hospital Retires After Six Decades of Dedicated Service

As an LPN at Sanford Luverne for 60 years, Carol Wieneke has become a beloved friend to everyone in the facility. She is known for her caring personality and her ability to connect with patients and staff alike. Recently, she reflected on her time at Sanford Luverne, acknowledging that finding joy in the simple moments has been key to her success.

For Carol, it’s not about the number of years she’s spent at Sanford Luverne but about the people she’s met along the way. Her colleague of 13 years, Cheryl Groen, spoke highly of Carol’s character, describing how much she truly cares about her patients and fellow staff members. Groen also notes that Carol always treated everyone as if they were family members.

Although it may be difficult to say goodbye forever, Groen knows that Carol will always be a close friend and will continue to stop by Sanford Luverne from time to time. Her reputation for keeping her word is something that Groen admires and will keep her in high regard as a dear friend.
