In 2021, the former Chapel Hill Mall in Akron underwent a significant transformation and is now operating as a business park. The complex was previously owned by Industrial Commercial Properties (ICP) and Storage of America (SOA), who purchased the property at 2000 Brittain Road. The size of the former mall was 900,000 square feet but after the renovation, it now spans 715,000 square feet on 60 acres of land.
Despite the changes, there are still opportunities for businesses to lease space in the park as 40,826 square feet remain available. Since its closure in 2021, four new businesses have been established in the complex. It’s worth noting that SOA had already purchased the former Macy’s building in 2019 prior to the mall’s closure. Overall, this revitalization promises a thriving business park under new ownership.
