Stop by the Kaua‘i District Health Office this Friday

Kaua’i District Health Office (KDHO) is hosting an open house on Friday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., in celebration of National Public Health Week. Located on Umi Street near the elections building and Central Pacific Bank building, the open house provides an opportunity for the public to engage with Hawai’i State Department of Health staff. This event allows community members to learn about programs and actions they can take to address public health challenges.

National Public Health Week, observed during the first week of April, is a time for communities across the U.S. to come together and recognize the importance of public health. This year’s theme, “Protecting, Connecting, and Thriving: We Are All Public Health,” emphasizes the collective effort needed to improve the nation’s health.

Kaua’i District Health Officer Dr. Janet Berreman expressed excitement for the event, stating that National Public Health Week encourages exploration of the various programs and services offered by the Department of Health. The aim is to enhance the well-being of the community through collaboration with community members and partners. This event serves as a way to show gratitude to the community for their ongoing support in creating a healthier and thriving Kaua’i.
