Amarillo City Council Approves Development Agreements for Kids Inc Sports Complex Construction

The Amarillo City Council recently approved three development agreements that will help kickstart the construction of the Kids Inc sports complex in south Amarillo. The partners involved in this project include the Amarillo Economic Development Corporation, which will contribute $7.5 million for infrastructure such as water, utilities, streets, and a parking lot. Additionally, Attebury Elevators and Rockrose Development will invest $4.6 million in infrastructure and be responsible for building a $3 million parking lot as part of the development agreements.

As tax collections increase from development in a designated zone at the intersection of Loop 335 and I-27, the partners will be reimbursed over time for their contributions. This initiative represents a collaborative effort to enhance sports and recreational opportunities in the Amarillo community. With the support of the partners and the city council’s approval, the construction of the Kids Inc sports complex is expected to move forward smoothly. Copyright 2024 KFDA. All rights reserved.
