As of 8:00 p.m., the water level in several river basins in Armenia had decreased compared to the morning. The Debed river basin saw a decrease of 80 cm, Dzoraget 50 cm, Pambak 30 cm, and Tashir river 31 cm according to reports from “Hayhydromet.” Meanwhile, the Aghstev river basin experienced an increase of 65 cm at the Ijevan observation point while decreasing by 15 cm at the Dilijan observation point.
The floods that occurred in Lori and Tavush marzes caused significant destruction. The overflowing Debed river led to an emergency situation in several villages and towns in Lori. Roads and bridges collapsed, including the interstate road to Georgia. Houses were flooded, resulting in a dire situation for many residents.
