In “A Bit of Light,” Paquin portrays a struggling mother who moves in with her father after losing custody of her children. The film also stars Ray Winstone, Youssef Kerkour, Pippa Bennett-Warner, and Luca Hogan.

Paquin expressed her love for independent filmmaking, saying that it is where she started in the industry and values telling stories with integrity and truth.
