HOBOKEN, N.J. (March 18, 2023) – The Stevens Institute of Technologies baseball group homered 5 instances in sweeping King’s College Saturday in a MAC Freedom doubleheader at Dobbelaar Field.

Junior Christian Kreiser homered and had 4 RBI and initial-year Dylan Fishbough hit his initial profession extended ball as the Ducks topped the Monarchs 15- in the opener. Sophomore Victor Schilleci and junior Jack Irby every single went deep in game two as the Ducks completed the sweep with an 11-two victory. The victories moved the Ducks to 11-five on the year and to three-two in conference play. Stevens has won 5 straight and has claimed all eight historical meetings with the Monarchs.

Justin Richards hit a two-run blast to account for the only runs of the day for King’s, who dropped to six-7 on the year and to 1-four in league play. The Monarchs have lost their final 5 games.

The Ducks wasted small time finding on the board against Matt Martin (1-1). Senior Ben Tobio reached on an error by shortstop Nick Ciszak and Schilleci doubled to correct center. Two batters later, Kreiser drove a two-1 pitch into left field to score each runners. The Ducks’ correct fielder came about to score Chase Yochem misplayed Irby’s single. Martin lasted only 3 innings and permitted seven runs.

Nine batters came to the plate in the third as the Ducks tacked on 4 runs. Kreiser delivered the huge blow in the inning, launching a two-run shot to center for his group-top fourth homer. Sophomore Colby Ching had a run-scoring single and scored from second on classmate Evan Pravato’s infield hit when the King’s defense was late covering property plate. Pravato later stole second and third but was stranded when Tobio grounded out two batters later. Speed was definitely a crucial ingredient in the Ducks’ offensive efforts as they stole 4 bases in game 1 and added a further six in game two.

King’s produced a pitching modify at the get started of the fourth, but that did small to slow down the surging offense of the property group. In a lengthy inning, the Ducks sent 13 batters to the plate and scored an impressive seven runs on six hits. The seven-run outburst was the Ducks’ fourth inning with at least seven runs this season. The initial seven batters reached with Irby and Ching notching two-run hits. King’s reliever Aidan Mahal faced seven batters in the frame but did not record an out.

Even though the Ducks have been on fire at the plate, senior correct-hander Justin Doyle (four-two) was equally as hot on the mound. The Louisville, Kentucky native mowed down the Monarchs in order the initial time via the lineup and completed the two-hitter with a profession-higher nine strikeouts for his initial collegiate shutout.

The Ducks followed the identical script in the finale, jumping on King’s starter Adin Hoderewski (1-1) for 3 runs in the initial. With 1 out, Schilleci worked a 4-pitch stroll for the Ducks’ initial baserunner of the game. Senior Michael Reyes was hit by a pitch. Just after a fielder’s selection erased Reyes from the basepaths, Kreiser stole second right after a run-down, which also permitted Schilleci to score from third. Irby and senior Chris Davis followed with run-scoring singles to push the lead to 3.

Pravato added to the Ducks lead in the second with a leadoff homer for his initial collegiate longball. Fishbough followed with a bunt single and, right after a pair of steals, came about to score on Schilleci’s no-doubt homer to correct. Hoderewski permitted all 11 runs, which includes 3 homers.
