BEAR, or the Castle Country Business Expansion and Retention group, is a dedicated team of volunteers that aim to support local businesses in Carbon and Emery counties. Led by Shanny Wilson, the Carbon County Economic Development & Tourism Director, BEAR’s mission is to promote growth and job creation within the community. By strengthening existing businesses, the initiative contributes to the economic resilience and sustainability of the region.
Every month, BEAR hosts General Meetings on the fourth Thursday at Utah State University Eastern in Price. These meetings provide an excellent platform for networking, collaboration, and knowledge-sharing among local businesses, community members, leaders, and economic development stakeholders. The upcoming meeting on April 25 will feature Brock Johansen, CEO of Emery Telcom discussing collaborative efforts in economic development.
If you are interested in staying updated on developments and opportunities in Carbon and Emery counties or would like to get involved with BEAR’s mission, contact Nick Tatton, Price City Community Director at communitydirector@priceutah.net.
