FAIRMONT — Lincoln Becker and Nate Rakness have been chosen as the Fairmont Location Cardinal boys hockey team’s most precious players for the 2022-23 season.
Rakness was named the Cardinals’ MVP on offense, although Becker was tabbed as the red-and-white’s major defender.
Rakness, a junior forward, led Fairmont Location in total points (33) and objectives (20), although netting the team’s No. two help total (13).
Becker, a senior standout, contributed 12 points to the Cardinals’ offense on the strength of six objectives and six assists.
Sophomore defender Tyler Kurt was chosen as the Cardinals’ rookie of the year, although junior defender Connor Gronewald and junior Jace Prindle shared the team’s most enhanced accolades.
Kurt generated six assists and a single helper on the season, Gronewald netted two objectives and 3 assists, although Prindle chipped in a single objective and 3 helpers.
Fairmont Location, which closed out its season with an eight-19 general record, posted a 7-five victory more than Worthington in the course of their Section 3A play-in postseason tournament game prior to becoming eliminated by New Ulm in the quarterfinals.
