US President Joe Biden announced a new military package for Ukraine immediately after signing a corresponding law on Wednesday. The package includes anti-aircraft equipment, artillery, missile systems, and armored vehicles, which will be sent to Ukraine in the next few hours. Biden emphasized that this move is not only an investment in Ukraine’s security but also in the security of Europe, warning that Russia could potentially target a NATO partner next.
In related news, the US Congress approved a $61 billion package for Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan, which had been blocked for months but was finally released after Iran’s major attack on Israel. The aid package includes increased funding for weapons and ammunition for the US military’s inventory, which will indirectly benefit Ukraine as the US usually provides equipment from its own stocks to countries under attack, including Ukraine.
The rest of the aid package includes further military support, financial assistance, and provisions for long-range ATACMS missile systems. Biden and Ukrainian President Volodymr Zelensky discussed the delivery of new long-range ATACMS missiles
