Breaking News: Manchester United Explores Options for Naming Rights at Historic Old Trafford Stadium

Manchester United is currently weighing the decision to sell the naming rights to their historic Old Trafford stadium. This move is part of stadium plans being discussed by part-owner Jim Ratcliffe, with the goal of increasing revenues for the club.

Old Trafford has been the home of Manchester United for 114 years, and this would be the first time that naming rights have been sold, following a trend among other Premier League clubs. Initial discussions have taken place with financial institutions like Bank of America as the club explores options for funding their stadium project.

If United chooses to refurbish the current Old Trafford, they may consider having an associated partner for the stadium rather than selling the complete naming rights. This model has been successful at other venues like Wembley Stadium and Manchester’s cricket ground, Emirates Old Trafford. However, if they decide to completely rebuild their stadium, they are open to selling full naming rights.

Manchester United is considering various options as they continue to evaluate their plans for Old Trafford’s future.
