With group members representing various region schools, the Miami Rowing Club crew group won two state championships at the annual Florida Scholastic Rowing Association’s Championship Regatta.

MRC took initially location in men’s junior coxed four and the women’s junior coxed four, showcasing their outstanding talent and difficult perform.

On the winning boys’ boat have been Andres Hernandez Ibañez from Immaculata La Salle Higher College, George Pesin from Coral Reef Senior Higher, Michael Kourakos from Palmer Trinity College, Sebastian Sanchez from Gulliver Prep, and the coxswain Natalia Narvaez from Carrollton College of the Sacred Heart.

On the winning girls’ boat have been Fabiana Audisio from MAST Academy, Ines Menoyo-Kossick from Ransom Everglades, Olivia Guevara from MAST Academy, Kate Vail from Carrollton College of the Sacred Heart, and the coxswain Kristina Multach from Palmer Trinity College.

In addition to the two state championship titles, the Miami Rowing Club also earned two silver medals in the coxed girls’ lightweight four and coxed boys’ lightweight eight boats. The varsity eight+ boat placed third in the state for a bronze medal to round out that impressive displaying at the championship regatta.

“We are extremely proud of our crew team’s functionality at the Florida Scholastic Rowing Association’s championship regatta,” MRC head coach Cesar Herrera stated in a release. “Their difficult perform, dedication and teamwork have paid off in a huge way, and we can not wait to see what they obtain in the future.”

The Miami Rowing Club is a nonprofit organization that gives rowing possibilities to the youth of Miami and promotes the sport of rowing in the neighborhood. With this impressive functionality at the state championship regatta, the Miami Rowing Club continues to solidify its position as a top rated-tier rowing system in the area.

BCAA MVPs

At the annual Broward County Athletic Association Girls’ Flag Football All-Star Classic, the North defeated South Central 20-7 at Pompano Beach Higher College.

Ashleigh Battle of Blanche Ely received North MVP honors, and Yanei Hoban of Cooper City was named the South Central MVP.

At the annual BCAA Boys’ Volleyball All-Star Game at Pompano Beach Higher College, the North’s Judelin Bosse from Deerfield Beach and the South’s Ryan Celestine from Nova have been chosen group MVPs.
