Browns running back Nyheim Hines is currently not participating in organized team activities as he continues to recover from a torn ACL. Despite this setback, he is confident that he will be ready in time for training camp. Hines has been sidelined since January 22, 2023, following a playoff game for the Bills where they lost to the Bengals. He missed the entirety of last season after sustaining a knee injury in a jet skiing accident last summer.
Hines is determined to be back on the field for Week 1 and has expressed his belief that he will overcome this challenging period. He views this experience as a learning opportunity and remains optimistic about what the future holds for him. Hines’ return abilities have earned him a one-year contract with the Browns, but he aims to prove that he is capable of much more than that.
Throughout his career, Hines has amassed impressive statistics, including 1,832 return yards and four touchdowns, as well as 1,205 rushing yards, 1,725 receiving yards, and 18 touchdowns from scrimmage. With the potential changes to kickoff return rules, Hines could become an even more valuable asset in that aspect of the game. He is eager to showcase his abilities on offense and demonstrate that he is a versatile threat both on and off the ball.
In addition to his own recovery journey, Hines is competing for playing time and touches alongside Browns’ starting running back Nick Chubb, who is also recovering from a knee injury. With Jerome Ford and D’Onta Foreman ahead of him on the depth chart, Hines is motivated to prove himself and carve out a significant role for the upcoming season.
