A quadruped robot called Thermonator, equipped with a flamethrower, is now available for sale in the United States, according to a digital site report. Manufactured by Throwflame, which claims to be the oldest flamethrower manufacturer in the US, Thermonator is their fifth product. The mechanical quadruped was introduced to the world last summer and is the first flamethrowing robot dog on the planet.
The team behind Thermonator named it after a fictional film robot that was part of a robotic revolution. Powered by gasoline or napalm, the device has a one-hour battery life, sensor for cartographic mapping, ARC ignition, laser aiming, as well as Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity for remote control via a smartphone. Residents of the country, with the exception of those in Maryland and California, can legally purchase this flamethrowing robot dog online for less than 10 thousand dollars.
Thermonator has plasma arc ignition to launch fire at distances of up to nine meters and is mounted on a robot dog, likely a version of Unitree Go2. The company designed Thermonator for agricultural management, ecological conservation, forest fire control and prevention, as well as snow and ice removal. Despite its intended purposes
