The CAA Men’s Basketball Weekly Awards for November 20 have been announced, with Elon’s TK Simpkins and Nick Dorn named as the winners.
Sophomore TK Simpkins has been named Player of the Week, while Freshman Nick Dorn has been named Rookie of the Week. Simpkins helped lead Elon to a 2-1 week at the Rock Hill Classic, scoring double figures in all three games with an average of 15.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 2.7 assists during the week. He had a shooting percentage of 44% and made 4-of-10 from three. He also made 17 of his 21 free-throw attempts in the games against IUPUI and Winthrop.
On the other hand, Freshman Nick Dorn averaged 11.7 points and 3.3 rebounds in a 2-1 week for Elon. He had a strong performance in the tournament opener, knocking down four threes on nine attempts in a 19-point effort to beat IUPUI on Friday, and helping the Phoenix to a win over Holy Cross on Saturday. Dorn is one of three Elon players averaging double figures this season.
