Solidia Technologies has recently signed a technology licensing agreement with CalPortland in the United States. This agreement allows CalPortland to use Solidia’s patents, which have the potential to reduce the carbon footprint of cement and concrete by up to 50%. The limited rights granted in the agreement will enable CalPortland to develop low carbon solutions using Solidia’s technology.
CalPortland’s CEO, Kelly Larson, expressed her excitement about the partnership with Solidia. She highlighted CalPortland’s strong commitment to decarbonization in the cement and concrete industries, which aligns well with the goals of Solidia. Larson mentioned that CalPortland’s dedication to sustainability makes them an ideal partner to further the research and development efforts that Solidia has been working on for over a decade.
In addition to the technology licensing, CalPortland has also acquired certain laboratory and plant assets from Solidia. These assets will allow CalPortland to further its own research and development efforts into low-carbon solutions for cement and concrete production.
The CEO of Solidia Technologies, Russell Hill, expressed his enthusiasm about the partnership with CalPortland. He highlighted CalPortland’s strong commitment to decarbonization in the cement and concrete industries, which aligns well with the goals of Solidia. Hill mentioned that this collaboration is seen as a step forward in advancing environmentally friendly solutions in the construction industry.
This partnership is expected to bring together years of research and development efforts from both companies towards developing sustainable solutions for cement and concrete production.
Overall, this collaboration is viewed as an important step towards reducing carbon emissions in one of our most significant industries while promoting sustainable practices in construction projects.
