In response to allegations of bullying against two managers at Charleroi Airport, management has re-assigned the pair in an effort to prevent strikes announced for Wednesday. The BSCA spokesperson made this announcement on Friday afternoon, stating that these measures are precautionary and will remain in effect during an internal auditor’s investigation.
Yves Lambot of the Christian employee union CNE expressed positivity towards the decision to suspend the two managers but expressed regret that it is still preventive at this stage. He mentioned that the case will first be investigated by an internal auditor and then by the labor auditor’s office before final decisions are made.
The strike notice is in effect until May 15, and management is concerned that any personnel action could have consequences for the airport, especially since around 500,000 passengers are expected in the next two weeks with the start of the spring holidays in French-speaking Belgium.
