The Chicago Bulls are proud to announce that Matas Buzelis, the 11th pick in the recent NBA Draft, has officially signed his rookie scale contract and is now listed on an NBA roster for the first time. Buzelis will be joining second-year forward Julian Phillips on the team for the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas, where they will play a minimum of five games starting on July 13 against the Milwaukee Bucks.
Other players on the roster include Adama Sanogo, Henri Drell, and Andrew Funk, who played limited minutes for the NBA team on two-way contracts last season. Marcus Domask from Illinois and Chase Audige from Northwestern, both with local connections, are also part of the team, which will be coached by Billy Donovan III.
The Bulls have a busy schedule ahead of them as they face off against some of the best teams in the league during summer league play. They will take on the Golden State Warriors on July 14, the Detroit Pistons on July 16, and the Atlanta Hawks on July 19. Additional games will be determined based on their performance in the summer league playoffs.
Phillips is fully healthy after recovering from a right midfoot sprain that kept him out of action for most of last season. Buzelis is eager to get to work with the team and showcase his skills on the court. As they begin their practices in preparation for summer league, excitement is building among fans and players alike to see what these young players can do when given a chance to shine.
