Chivas Guadalajara is set to make a strong comeback this season as they aim to win their first Liga MX title since 2017. After finishing fifth and sixth in the Apertura and Clausura last season, respectively, they made it to the semifinals of the 2024 Clausura, where they lost to eventual champions Club America. With the return of Javier ‘Chicharito’ Hernandez and a renewed sense of determination, Chivas is poised to challenge for the title once again.
To enhance the viewing experience, there will be a 1-hour pregame show and a 30-minute postgame show for every match on Universo and Peacock. Telemundo Deportes’ sportscaster Jorge Calvo will provide live match commentary along with expert analysis from Chivas veteran Manuel Sol and referee Jaime Herrera Garduno. Host Miguel Gurwitz, an Emmy-award winner, will lead the pregame and postgame show “Futbol Estelar Chivas Extra,” with contributions from Veronica Rodriguez, cohost of “Zona Mixta.”
The first match of the season between Chivas and Toluca will take place at Akron Stadium on Saturday, July 6 at 9pm ET.
