Collaboration and Success: CWI’s Health & Science Expansion Marks Milestone in Centralized Learning

A beam signing event marked the milestone of the new Health & Science building topping out at the Nampa campus of College of Western Idaho. This expansion is the first since the college opened in 2007 and will bring all professors and resources under one roof in the centralized Health & Science department.

Former student Nichelle Boyce, who earned her degree in Surgical Technology from CWI, expressed her excitement about the expansion and its benefits for future students. She highlighted how having all professors in one location would make it easier for students to reach out for questions and answers, streamline their learning process, and improve collaboration among them.

The consolidation of the Health & Science department in the new building will provide students with access to all resources in one spot. This is particularly beneficial for those pursuing healthcare careers as they will have everything they need at their fingertips. The school views this expansion as a crucial aspect of student learning, particularly in the health department, where collaboration is viewed as a key area for improvement.

Vice Chair Trustee Cherie Buckner-Webb emphasized the urgent need for more healthcare professionals not only in Idaho but globally. CWI is preparing students to meet this demand and serve communities around the world. The new Health & Science building represents a significant step towards meeting this need and providing a centralized and efficient learning environment for students.
