Linebacker Shaquille Leonard has been waived by the Indianapolis Colts. Despite his departure, Leonard remains appreciative of the support he received from Colts fans and expressed his love for the city on social media. During his six years with the team, Leonard had his share of accomplishments. He was a second-round pick in 2018 and won defensive rookie of the year, as well as being named a first-team All-Pro. However, back injuries and a decrease in playing time led to his release from the team.
Leonard will now be looking for a new team as a free agent, with the opportunity to sign a new contract elsewhere. Colts owner Jim Irsay thanked Leonard for his contributions to the team and posted a farewell message expressing gratitude for his service.
