The Croats emerged victorious over Armenia with a 1-0 score, leaving Serbia as the better rival in the match, according to colleagues from Blic.rs. Despite their loss, Armenia had the best chance to score. Zlatko Dalić’s team won a place in the big competition in Germany and was placed in the third pot, giving them the possibility of playing against Serbia in the group at the upcoming European Championship. However, it was Serbia that got most of the headlines for their performance on the field.
Ognjen Čančarević was named as the best individual on the field and scored a goal for Serbia against Armenia. He also showed respect for Croatian national football team despite his clumsy performance when speaking about it on B92 portal.
The Kurir and Telegraf portals praised Croatia’s victory at Maksimir stadium and called them “Vatreni” (The Fiery Ones) who had a hard time getting their ticket to Germany but ultimately succeeded.
On sportsport.ba portal, colleagues from Bosnia and Herzegovina were in a much better mood, calling Ognjen Čančarević “The Best When It’s Hardest”.
