DOE Issues Solicitation for Support Services for National Energy Technology Laboratory Facility Operations

The Department of Energy has issued a request for proposals for Site Operations Support Services 5, an 8(a) small business set-aside contract. This contract will provide a variety of housekeeping and facility operation services to support the National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL). The services required for SOS5 include research and development, general engineering, site operations, property management, industrial hygiene, and waste disposal support.

The RFP was posted on SAM.gov on Monday and will benefit the NETL facilities in Oregon, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania. The specific work locations and contract type cost will be determined based on the requirements of each facility. SOS5 has a base period of performance of 24 months, with three options available that can extend the work to 60 months if exercised.

Interested parties are invited to respond to the RFP by May 17. The selected contractor will play a key role in providing a safe and clean working environment for the Department of Energy’s staff working at these sites. The contract presents an opportunity for small businesses to contribute to the important work conducted by the National Energy Technology Laboratory.
