The Municipality of Dhofar is gearing up for the upcoming Dhofar Fall 2024 activities in collaboration with the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism in the Sultanate of Oman. Last year, Dhofar Fall 2023 attracted an increase of 150,000 visitors compared to 813,000 in 2022, and they anticipate that this year’s season will see even more visitors.
Dr. Ahmed bin Mohsen Al-Ghassani, Mayor of Dhofar, announced during a press conference at the Arabian Travel Market 2024 exhibition in Dubai that this year’s activities will commence early at both existing and new locations for the fall season, starting on June 21 and concluding on September 20. The extended three-month period aims to attract a larger number of tourists.
As part of the activities at the Arabian Travel Market, the launch of the “Atin Square” website was announced, showcasing various events including Omani and Arab artistic concerts at the Al Murooj Theater. The games area in Atin Square will feature a sports challenge field. Additionally, the “Return of the Past” activities in the Al-Saada area will simulate local environments in the Dhofar Governorate, with new additions from other governorates of Oman. Finally, the first “Dhofar International Theater Festival” will be organized to promote participation from authorities in Oman.
