Walt Disney World’s Test Track is undergoing renovations to make way for the third version of the popular EPCOT thrill ride. On Sunday, June 16, the attraction shut down with construction walls already in place to block off the pavilion entrance. A “Coming Soon” poster featuring a sleek arrival area can be seen on the front construction wall. While Disney has not yet announced an official reopening date for Test Track 3.0, it is estimated that the ride will remain closed for at least a year.
As part of Chevrolet’s sponsorship agreement with Disney, Imagineers are collaborating with Chevrolet to create a renewed sense of optimism for the updated Test Track experience at EPCOT. The current version of Test Track, version 2.0, was introduced in December 2012 and is now in line for a refresh.
