Drowning Incident at Six Flags Great Escape Lodge & Indoor Waterpark: New York State Health Department Investigates

The New York State Department of Health is currently investigating an indoor waterpark following an incident where a child nearly drowned over the weekend. The 5-year-old from Hudson, New York was discovered unresponsive in the water at Six Flags Great Escape Lodge & Indoor Waterpark in Queensbury, New York, according to the Warren County Sheriff’s Office.

In New York, drowning incidents at regulated bathing facilities are typically looked into by local health departments or state district offices. However, this specific incident is being investigated by the state health department’s Glens Falls District Office.

The young girl was quickly transported to an Albany hospital by Life Net and is currently in stable condition. Six Flags Great Escape Lodge & Indoor Waterpark opened its doors in 2006 and is owned by Six Flags. In response to the emergency, West Glens Falls EMS, Queensbury Central Fire, and the New York State Police all assisted the Warren County Sheriff’s Office. The collaboration between these entities helped expedite the response to the incident at the waterpark.
