In the summer transfer window, Aston Villa has welcomed its first addition with the signing of midfielder Jill Baijings from Bayern Munich on loan. Baijings, a 23-year-old Dutch player, has earned eight international caps for her country and previously played for clubs such as Heerenveen, SGS Essen, and Bayer Leverkusen. She signed a three-year contract with Bayern last summer.
Lee Billiard, Villa’s head of women’s football, expressed excitement about the signing. “We have been following Jill for some time now and believe she brings valuable experience and attributes that will enhance our team’s performance on the field,” he stated. Baijings played 14 games for Bayern last season and contributed to their retention of the Frauen-Bundesliga title. With her addition to the team, Villa hopes to continue its success in the Women’s Super League.
