The 49ers and Eagles are two of the NFC’s leading teams, and the addition of former Philadelphia defensive tackle Javon Hargrave just created San Francisco even superior.
Eagles center Jason Kelce knows all as well nicely what sort of player the 49ers are receiving in Hargrave — an acquisition he named “challenging” as his group appears to defend its conference title in 2023.
“[Hargrave] was an absolute beast for you guys,” Kansas City Chiefs tight finish Travis Kelce told his brother on their podcast this week. “And he got paid. Got paid a lot of income, and he deserves it.”
“I am delighted for my man, Grave Digger,” Jason Kelce responded. “Javon’s 1 of the hardest guys I’ve ever had to block, specially from a pass-blocking standpoint. That is a large acquisition by the 49ers. Him, [Arik] Armstead, I imply, they are stacked all more than defense.
“It was currently a challenging game against them final year, and Javon’s not going to make it any less difficult. So, that is a challenging 1 mainly because, definitely, the 49ers are a rival of ours ideal now. Significant game for us.”
Just after losing to the Eagles in the NFC Championship Game, the 49ers will return to Lincoln Monetary Field in the course of the 2023 NFL season for a hugely anticipated rematch. This time, Hargrave will be on the opposite sideline just after signing a 4-year contract with San Francisco in absolutely free agency.
The 30-year-old pass rusher tallied 11. sacks with Philadelphia in 2022, the most by an Eagles defensive tackle considering that 1993, and registered 60 total tackles.

And from the way it sounds, Travis Kelce is just glad his group does not have to face Hargrave and the 49ers this year, who have added however yet another leading-level talent to their roster.
“They just got superior once more,” an exasperated Travis Kelce mentioned.
“They are not slowing down,” Jason Kelce mentioned, “and Javon’s going to enable them out significant time.”
