During a Trade and Business Development Sectoral Meeting of the North South Ministerial Council held in Armagh, Economy Minister Conor Murphy emphasized the importance of working together with the south to maximize the trading advantages offered by the north’s unique arrangements.
Minister Murphy highlighted the protection of the all-island economy by the Windsor Framework and stressed the need for collaboration to enable businesses from various sectors to leverage new trading opportunities. He sees these trading arrangements as instrumental in realizing his economic vision of a highly productive, zero-carbon, and regionally balanced economy with quality employment opportunities.
An update was provided on the work of InterTradeIreland, which supports cross-border trade and cooperation through various programs and financial initiatives. Minister Murphy commended the progress made by InterTradeIreland in strengthening trade between the two jurisdictions and announced an increase in its resources to meet growing demand.
