Elara Caring’s Expansion: Acquiring Caregivers Home Health and Strengthening Presence in Iowa

In recent news, Elara Caring, a senior care provider based in Dallas, has acquired Caregivers Home Health, expanding its presence in Kansas and Iowa. Founded in 2004 and headquartered in Topeka, Kansas, Caregivers Home Health is a privately owned company with around 150 employees and additional locations in Garden City, Centerville, and Chariton, Iowa.

The acquisition of Caregivers Home Health marks Elara Caring’s entrance into the Iowa market and further expands its range of services. Elara Caring currently operates from over 200 locations across 18 states, offering various services such as home health, hospice, personal care, behavioral health, and palliative care. Their dedicated team of clinicians serves over 60,000 patients each day.

Ed Schulte, the CEO and President of Caregivers Home Health expressed confidence in Elara Caring’s reputation for quality care under their new ownership. “We are excited about the opportunity to join forces with Elara Caring,” he said. “Their approach to patient-centered care aligns closely with our values.”

Scott Powers, CEO and Chairman of Elara Caring shared his excitement about the acquisition stating that “Elara Caring’s relationship-based approach and value-based care model have led to improved patient outcomes in communities across the country.” He added that this expansion will bring additional resources to serve more patients in need.

This acquisition is just one of many expansions for Elara Caring in recent years. In 2023 they acquired Assisted Daily Living in Rhode Island and American Family Home Health in Illinois last year. With these acquisitions under their belt along with their existing operations they continue to grow their presence nationally while providing quality care to over 60 thousand patients daily.
