On Wednesday, May 8th, Istanbul airport experienced a moment of fear as a FedEx cargo plane was forced to make an emergency landing on the tarmac without its front landing gear. The Boeing 767, which was flying in from Paris-Charles de Gaulle, alerted the control tower about the issue with the nose gear not deploying. Immediately, rescue and firefighting teams were put on standby and positioned themselves on the runway.
Images shared on social media showed the Boeing placing its rear wheels on the tarmac before scraping the ground with its nose during the landing. Despite this risky maneuver, there were no casualties. Emergency trucks quickly entered the runway to spray the plane with firefighting foam, and the runway was temporarily closed to air traffic. This incident is part of a series of plane damages involving Boeing aircraft, with investigations currently underway causing unrest within the group.
