Ensuring Healthcare Access in Conflict-Affected Areas: A Look into Challenges and Solutions

A recent study on the impact of violence on healthcare services in Eastern DRC has been released in both English and French. The research highlights the challenges faced by healthcare providers in conflict-affected areas, shedding light on the importance of addressing security risks to ensure effective service delivery.

The Semaine 2024 du réseau et des pratiques humanitaires will feature a panel discussion on guaranteeing access to healthcare through community support and improved security risk management for hospitals in the DRC. The session will explore the results of an operational approach to risk analysis and the impact assessment of attacks on the health system. This event, scheduled for 3 May from 15:00-16:30 CET, will be conducted in French with English translation provided. Registration is open for those interested in attending.

Another session at the event will focus on security planning and security risk management, addressing current challenges and strategies to help organizations and healthcare providers adapt to changing situations. The session will take place on 6 May 2024 from 14:00-15:30 CET, with options for both virtual and in-person attendance at CICG Geneva Plenary B. Registration is required to participate.
