Falling Short of a World Record: Becerra’s Performance in the Compound Women’s Archery Competition at Shanghai”.

Ella Gibson held the 715-point world record in the compound women’s archery competition, but Becerra fell short of breaking it. Despite not setting a new record, she was still satisfied with her performance, as most of her shots were very close to the center. Becerra’s main focus during qualifications was to stay in her zone and not get too caught up in the score. She achieved this goal and qualified in first place.

Some of Becerra’s main competitors include Jyothi Surekha Vennam, Sara Lopez, and Aditi Swami, who qualified in eighth place with 704 points. The top eight qualifiers receive bonus points towards the Hyundai Archery World Cup Ranking. Korea qualified in first place for the compound men’s and mixed team events, while India took pole position in the compound women’s team event.

The competition in Shanghai will continue with compound team eliminations in the morning followed by recurve qualifying in the afternoon. Jesse Sut won a shoot-off to secure the last spot in the bracket for the compound men’s event. There was no top-64 cut in the compound women’s competition.
