This week, Zuppardi’s Apizza is celebrating its 90th year in business with an anniversary celebration. The restaurant, located at 179 Union Ave., will host the event on Monday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
According to the owners, the occasion will be a tribute to food, family, legacy, and customer loyalty throughout the years. Zuppardi’s has been operating since 1934 and is one of the oldest family-owned businesses in the United States.
The anniversary party will feature live music, food and Italian ice provided by the Zuppardi family, and more. Additionally, they will be selling special 90th-anniversary t-shirts with proceeds going towards supporting the Closer to Free Fund, which helps those affected by cancer at Smilow Cancer Hospital.
Aside from their main restaurant location in West Haven, the Zuppardi family also runs a frozen pizza business that sells nationwide to large retailers, a pizza truck for catering events and additional takeout spots like in Ansonia.
