DJ Pickett, a five-star safety from Zephyrhills, Florida and the No. 1 defensive back in the country, is expected to announce his decision on July 17th. LSU’s top uncommitted player on their 2025 recruiting board, Pickett has narrowed down his final four schools to LSU, Georgia, Oregon, and Miami.
Pickett is ranked as the No. 6 player in the nation by On3 and the top player in Florida. On May 31st, LSU hosted him for an official visit and at one point it seemed like momentum was in their favor. However, after visiting his other finalists, the race for Pickett is now wide open.
It’s unclear which school will ultimately win over Pickett as there are no crystal ball projections for his decision. While LSU is slightly ahead of the competition in On3’s recruiting prediction machine, Miami and Oregon are still very much in contention for this highly sought-after recruit.
