From Frying Pans to Community Spirit: The World’s Biggest Fish Fry Returns to Paris, Tenn.

Paris, Tenn. was buzzing with excitement on April 20th as the 71st annual World’s Biggest Fish Fry returned to town. The event, which is a community-wide celebration and kickoff festival for West Tennessee, drew people from all over the region.

For just $20, visitors could enjoy a plate of catfish, fries, coleslaw, beans, and more at the Fish Tent. Event Organizer Josh ‘Smokey’ Taylor expressed his delight in bringing people together through this event.

The Fish Tent required an impressive amount of food to cater to the thousands of attendees each year. Taylor revealed that they had 12 thousand pounds of fish, 3 or 4 thousand pounds of fries, and an abundance of handmade hush puppies on hand. This amount of food was enough to serve 320 people every hour.

The World’s Biggest Fish Fry ran until Saturday, April 27th with operating hours on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. The event organizers ensured that they would serve the last person in line, even if it meant staying open past closing time.

On Friday morning at 10 a.m., the Fish Fry Parade kicked off on East Wood Street adding to the excitement during the celebration. To stay updated on local news visit the link provided.
