Local community rallies around Peoria business in response to support request

The Popcorn Shoppe, located at the Metro Centre, has been facing significant struggles as a small business. The owners, Matt George and Niki Duckworth, have expressed that the winter season has been particularly slow, resulting in a decrease in sales.

The business has been unable to pay their employees or afford rent and inventory due to the slow sales. They turned to social media to express their plight and urged the community for support. Their post received an overwhelming response with over 500 reactions and 2,000 shares.
