Global Stock Market Surges as Earnings Publishers Experience Increase in Helsinki, New York

On Friday, several earnings publishers on the Helsinki Stock Exchange experienced an increase in their stock prices. The general index of the exchange closed with a 1.1 percent increase, reaching 9,835 points. Following this news, the main indices of the New York stock exchanges also rose, with the S&P 500 up 1.1 percent, Nasdaq up two percent, and Dow Jones up 0.4 percent.

Among the most traded shares on Friday, Nokia closed down 1.5 percent while Nordea’s share price rose by 0.3 percent. Neste faced a significant drop in its share price on Thursday after its January-March results fell short of expectations. In contrast, Wärtsilä reported an operating profit that exceeded analysts’ expectations, resulting in an 11.4 percent increase in its share price.

Other companies also released their first-quarter results on Friday. Kemira saw a slight decrease in turnover and EBITDA but reported strong profitability and experienced a 12.2 percent increase in its share price due to it all. Appetite reported lower turnover but a significant increase in EBITDA and experienced a corresponding rise of 3.3 percent in its share price. Kreate saw a decrease in turnover but an increase in EBITDA and experienced only a slight decrease in its share price due to it all.

Technology companies on the Helsinki Stock Exchange also performed well on Friday as Qt Group reported an impressive 8.4 percent increase in its share price due to strong demand for their products and services globally; furthermore, British Project Grand Bidco Limited announced a voluntary recommended all-cash tender offer for Purmo Group’s shares which led to Purmo’s own stock prices going up by more than three times at thirty-percent rise respectively due to such acquisition bid offer from UK-based company Grand Bidco Limited which is known for acquiring stakes in various firms worldwide .
