Google is introducing a new security feature for Android that will help protect devices from potential risks. This feature, which will be available in Android 15, will allow services like Google Play Protect to quarantine apps suspected of carrying out malicious activities.
Google Play Protect was introduced in 2017 as a native security solution for Android devices, offering protection from malware and other threats. It scans apps downloaded from the Play Store to ensure they are safe and secure. With the new quarantine feature, apps with suspicious behavior will be isolated and put into quarantine, preventing them from executing any malware or malicious activity on the device without the need for immediate uninstallation.
When a potentially harmful app is identified, the user will be notified and given the option to delete it or have it automatically removed. The quarantine feature will restrict the affected app’s functionality, hiding its windows and preventing any notifications or system interactions. Other apps will also be unable to access its services, ensuring that the device remains secure.
This new security measure aims to further enhance the protection offered by Google Play Protect and other security tools, providing users with a more secure mobile experience. It will help prevent potential threats and maintain the integrity of the Android ecosystem.
