Hamad International Airport Takes Home Skytrax World Airport Awards: Doha Outshines Singapore and Seoul Incheon

The Skytrax World Airport Awards, which determine the best airports in the world based on customer satisfaction survey results, have been held for over a decade. This year’s race for the title of “world’s best airport” was intense, with Doha Hamad and Singapore Changi vying for top honors. However, the winner of this year’s awards went to Doha Hamad, edging out its Middle Eastern rival and cementing its position as one of the best airports in the world.

Seoul Incheon came in third place and also won the title of 2024’s most family-friendly airport. Tokyo’s Haneda and Narita airports claimed fourth and fifth places, respectively. Hong Kong airport made a significant jump, rising 22 positions to 11th place as passenger numbers increased following the Covid-19 pandemic. US airports once again failed to make it near the top of the table, with Seattle-Tacoma being the highest-ranked airport at 24th place, slipping six spots.

European airports continued to perform well, with Paris Charles de Gaulle, Munich, Zurich, and Istanbul maintaining their positions in the top 10. New York’s JFK fell to 93rd place while LaGuardia rose to 33rd. Melbourne remained the top-ranked Australian airport at 19th place while London Heathrow moved up one spot to 21st and Gatwick climbed seven spots to 48th. Japan’s Okinawa made the most significant leap in rankings, going from 199th to 91st position.
