In the Hamburg district of Heimfeld, a dramatic incident occurred at a hospital on Monday. While a mother was with her child for a pediatric examination, a Bulgarian woman (18) entered the doctor’s office and took the baby, running away from the clinic. According to Bild, the woman was told by a girl posing as a doctor that she had dropped something at the information desk and would take care of the baby.

However, just moments later, the woman realized there was no baby. It remains unclear whether the child’s mother and the 18-year-old know each other. The situation quickly escalated as two groups of large families gathered outside the hospital, allegedly around 40 people. The police were forced to intervene to calm down the crowd as people accused each other of kidnapping.

Just two hours after the incident occurred, the woman returned with the baby and handed it over to hospital staff. She was taken into custody and is being investigated on suspicion of kidnapping. Bild reports that she recently suffered a miscarriage.
