Closing its doors after half a century in Worcester, Tatnuck Meat & Seafood bids farewell

Harvey Slarskey’s legacy will always be remembered in the Worcester community, where his meat and seafood shop has been a staple for 50 years. Despite declining business and health issues, the shop remained dedicated to providing quality products and building personal relationships with customers.

Tatnuck Meat and Seafood had built a reputation as a go-to spot for a wide variety of meats and seafood, catering to the local community in the Tatnuck area. However, as the neighborhood changed, business started to decline. Michael Slarskey, Harvey’s son, shared that the decision to close was a difficult one, as the business had been a part of their lives for so long.

Harvey Slarskey started Tatnuck Meats Market in his 30s and later added seafood to the offerings in 2011, expanding the selection to include fresh fish and shellfish. In interviews over the years, Harvey emphasized the importance of customer satisfaction and quality products. Despite facing challenges such as running a small business, he remained committed to maintaining high standards.

Michael expressed gratitude to their loyal customers throughout the years and acknowledged that it was time to close the business. The closure of Tatnuck Meat and Seafood marks an era that has ended but Harvey’s dedication to his customers will always be remembered in Worcester community.
