The Wolverines have recently experienced a slowdown in their recruiting efforts. The team took their time with four-star linebacker Kamar Archie from Princeton (N.J.) Hun School, giving Rutgers and Clemson an opportunity to join the race for his services. However, despite having a former high school teammate already on the team, Archie ultimately chose Rutgers over Michigan in the 2025 recruiting cycle.
Archie is highly regarded by recruiting services as one of the top linebackers in his class. He is ranked #428 by 247Sports Composite, #13 by On3 Industry Ranking, #4 by ESPN, and #1 by Rivals. Additionally, he held offers from other top programs like Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Kentucky, and Notre Dame.
Michigan currently has linebacker Chase Taylor committed to their program and hopes to land Nathaniel Owusu-Boateng to address their linebacker needs after losing four players to the transfer portal this offseason.
