Hurricanes bolster roster in free agency with 1-year deal for Jack Roslovic

The Carolina Hurricanes have continued to make moves in free agency, signing forward Jack Roslovic to a one-year contract worth $2.8 million. Roslovic, who finished last season with the New York Rangers, has a solid track record with 234 points in 481 regular-season and playoff games for various teams in the NHL. Hurricanes general manager Eric Tulsky praised Roslovic’s offensive abilities and expressed excitement about adding him to the team’s forward group.

In addition to Roslovic, the Hurricanes have also signed several other players this week under Tulsky’s leadership, including William Carrier, Tyson Jost, Eric Robinson, Sean Walker, and Shayne Gostisbehere. These signings are part of the team’s efforts to continue their playoff streak for a seventh straight year under coach Rod Brind’Amour.

The Hurricanes face a challenge next season as they cope with the loss of key players in free agency, such as Jake Guentzel, Teuvo Teravainen, Brett Pesce, Stefan Noesen, and Brady Skjei. The future of restricted free agent Martin Necas is also uncertain as he is seeking a bigger role on another team. Meanwhile, the San Jose Sharks made moves of their own by signing two RFA forwards – Carl Grundstrom from Los Angeles and Ty Dellandrea from Dallas – to two-year contracts. Grundstrom brings competitiveness and offensive contributions to the lineup while Dellandrea is known for his strong defensive play. Sharks general manager Mike Grier expressed enthusiasm about adding both players to the organization.
