The Hyundai Tucson Hybrid is a compact crossover SUV that competes with models from Toyota and Honda. I appreciate the stylish appearance of the Tucson Hybrid, as well as its new technology, strong performance, and fuel efficiency. However, I found the drivetrain and transmission somewhat lacking in refinement.
Hyundai has been offering the Tucson in this segment for the past 20 years, with the model evolving into the brand’s top-selling vehicle, selling almost 210,000 units in 2023. The Tucson is also one of the most popular models in its segment, with the fourth generation launching in 2021. Compact crossover SUVs are currently the most popular type of vehicle on American roads, making up about one in every five new vehicle sales in the first quarter of this year.
