In recent days, delegations from Hamas and Israel took part in indirect talks in Cairo with the aim of achieving a truce in Gaza. However, after two days of negotiations, no clear results were achieved as reported by Egyptian state television, Al Qahera News.
According to a security source close to Egyptian Intelligence, the delegations of Hamas and Israel left Cairo after the negotiations. Despite the participation of mediators and both parties, there were still unresolved controversial points that hindered progress towards reaching an agreement.
While Hamas announced its withdrawal from Cairo without specifying reasons, they did confirm their commitment to accepting the truce proposal presented by the mediators. Egypt warned of the danger of escalation in the region if an agreement is not reached between Israel and Hamas.
The negotiations also saw the participation of representatives of Islamic Jihad and other Palestinian factions who joined efforts to resolve disputed points and move closer to reaching an agreement. The truce proposal accepted by Hamas includes various phases aimed at achieving a sustainable calm in Gaza and improving conditions for civilians in the region.
Despite ongoing challenges such as tensions caused by Israel’s recent military operation in Rafah, efforts continue to find a consensus formula and reach an agreement between the two parties.
