The spring roster of JMU football has been released and three key players are listed. Defensive end Abi Nwabuoku-Okonji, linebacker Taurus Jones, and Solomon Vanhorse are all expected to play important roles in the upcoming 2024 season.
Nwabuoku-Okonji, who entered the transfer portal in the offseason, had an injury hindering him in 2023 but showed promise as a starting defensive end. Jones, who led JMU in tackles in 2022, is an All-Sun Belt caliber linebacker when healthy. Vanhorse is known for his speed and versatility and will be a weapon in the return game as well as contributing as a running back and slot receiver.
The team is welcoming the return of these key veteran players and expects them to play an important role in the upcoming season. The addition of these players will significantly benefit defensively with their return, making JMU football a force to be reckoned with on the field.
