Biden aims to negotiate a minimum six-week ceasefire in Gaza

At a joint press conference with the King of Jordan, Abdullahin, at the White House, President Joe Biden announced that efforts are being made to negotiate a ceasefire lasting at least six weeks in the Gaza Strip. The ceasefire will see hostages released and civilians protected, including those in the town of Rafah near the Egyptian border.

Prime Minister of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu has ordered his country’s armed forces to prepare for a ground attack on Rafah where there are up to one million Palestinians in the region. It is important for civilians in this area to be protected during any military action taken.

Biden emphasized the importance of protecting civilians in Rafah and ensuring their safety during any military operation. He called for both sides to come together and negotiate a peaceful solution to the conflict in Gaza.
