The Mississippi State Department of Health is bringing a soulful twist to its upcoming “Be in Good Health” symposium. Officials have announced that the event will include a gospel choir competition, along with informative talks from health experts and free health screenings. The symposium will take place on Saturday at the Jackson Convention Complex, starting at 8:30 a.m. and running until 2 p.m.
At least eight choirs will participate in the competition, including Anderson United Methodist Church Praise Team, Pastor J Artie Stuckey & VOR, and Jemero Carter & Kingdomology. The event is being organized by the Office of Health Equity and the Community Engagement Center of the Jackson Heart Study.
